I've been asked for details, so here is the story!

Our wonderfully surreal weekend began Sunday the 27th at 10am when Jake woke me and asked if I would want to spend the day at Seaside. We decided to do it, it was spontaneous and out of the blue and a gorgeous day. So we got ready and headed for the beach! We made it there around 2:30pm and got some food at Safeway to take down to the beach. We set up our blanket and were enjoying the beautiful weather and amazing life God has granted us together. I was nearly finished with the first half of my sandwich when Jake told me to put it down, we faced each other and he asked me why I love him, I explained as best I could my feelings for him. Then I asked him why he loves me, he began to respond and reached behind him to pull out a ring box. He asked me to marry him and be his wife! I was so excited, I made 'jazz hands' as he describes it, and I got to see my amazing ring! We embraced and shared the most wonderful emotions together! We walked the main street of Seaside and spent some time together, then headed home. We made it home about 6:30pm and headed over to his parents place, they already knew of course, but not since before I did! As we visited with them Jake called his brother Jordan to share the news, to our surprise he had some news as well, his wife Sarah was having contractions 15 minutes apart! We finally headed to bed about 11:00pm with cell phone on loud waiting for the phone call telling us to head to the hospital. It arrived about 1:30am and we were at the hospital by 2am. We met the whole family there and set up camp in the waiting area. The newest Wirkkala, and our newest nephew made his debut about 10:30am this morning. He is so precious, 8lbs 12oz. and 19.5 inches long. After the 2 hour wait to be allowed into the room we met our new nephew Bryson Lee! It came time I had to go to work, I left the hospital around 1pm and headed to work, my shift...2pm-9:30pm...yep on just 2 hours of sleep. I managed to make it through my shift and arrived home about 9:45pm and should totally be sleeping right now.

A date has not been set for the wedding as of yet, it probably won't be for about a year or so, that way we can get everything just right and we have time to same some funds for the joyous occassion!

Photos will be coming soon, I need to put them on the computer and upload them still, and it's my bedtime....

~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-52564595213830646362010-04-20T09:23:00.000-07:002010-04-20T09:33:20.897-07:00Frenchman's Wharf

So I have been working like crazy lately, my hours are the complete opposite as Jake's so we haven't been able to spend much time with each other lately. I came home from work on Friday which I got off at 6 rather than nine thirty which was nice and Jake wanted to go down to Frenchman's Wharf in Vancouver! So I put on my new summer dress that is way cute! And we got some subway and made it for the last half of sunset. It was extremely cold but so much fun to spend some quality time with my honey. We enjoyed the beauty of the sun dipping over the hill, the sounds of the waves in the water, and each others company!!! After the cold was a bit too much to bear we headed home and cuddled up on the couch with some drinks and tv til it was bed time. It was fantastic!!! Here are some pics from the Wharf!!!!

Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-22682607690252403182010-04-05T15:20:00.000-07:002010-04-05T15:27:35.949-07:00More Progress!Takin' a break!

Man making progress makes ya feel good! I gotta get going for now.
~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-64272289494317508622010-03-30T16:27:00.000-07:002010-03-30T16:34:30.084-07:00The move!Good day all!
I decided to take a break and write a blog and update a bit. I am now completely moved in with Jake! I turned in my keys at the old BG apartment! I have the kitchen completely unpacked and organized at the new place and have gotten a bit of unpacking done!
My poor baby isn't feeling well and has been off work a day and a half this week, I've been taking care of him and babyin' him til he's all better!
I had a great birthday this last weekend, I got to spend some time with a lot of family that I don't get to see on a regular basis, then dinner with the fam and grandparents! Then Sunday was spent with my parents and closest of friends to move me to Jakes!!! And I even got to talk to my little brother!!! I haven't heard his voice in almost 2 months since he left for boot camp, he was able to use his cell phone on Sunday for awhile and got it early enough to call the house while Eric and Crystal were still here and was able to talk to everybody!!! He's doing well, has a bit of a cold, but is enjoying himself nonetheless.
I am going to get going and continue with my progress. Have a great day all!!!
Loves
MeVictoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-83430657696127447342010-03-22T18:28:00.000-07:002010-03-22T18:33:02.942-07:00PreparationsHoly Cow another post....and not too far after the other hehe...

So here's the news since my last post. I now have a job that I start wednesday the 24th. I'm not too excited about it, but it's a job and those are difficult to come by these days. It's at a place called Alpine Payment Systems, it's just a call center, but no worries, I only have to bother business owners between 8-5, no obnoxious home phone calls driving you crazy! I'm still on the look out for something as a secretary/receptionist etc. but for now this will do. My ultimate plan is to save up and start school back up in the fall to get my Medical Receptionist certificate and get a career in that field!

I have been going crazy getting things done at my apartment today preparing for the big move! I will be moving in with Jake this coming weekend and Saturday is all booked up with Jake working and all, so Sunday is the main moving day. I can't wait!!!

I am off to eat and get some more done, I hope all of you are doing well!!! Have a great day!
~VickyVictoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-50587549685310364152010-02-25T09:15:00.000-08:002010-02-25T09:25:41.822-08:00UpdateHi all,
So it's been an extremely long time since I last posted on here so I thought I would drop in and write a bit. Life has been going pretty well for me since September when I met the man of my dreams :) His name is Jake and he is the most wonderful guy I have ever met! I never thought I would be lucky enough to be in such a fabulous relationship!
After working at my job for a year I couldn't handle it anymore, I quit my job the end of January and have been so much more relaxed on a daily basis. That place was suffocating me big time, not to mention it was so hostile.
So now I am job hunting, I have one lead, thanks to Jakes brother, that I am so thankful for. I have been so blessed to know Jake and his family they are all such wonderful people.
I will be moving in with Jake in a few weeks, mid march-ish anyhow, and I cannot wait! We have painted a little in the apartment to make it feel a bit more like a home. I got some gorgeous curtains, and am having a blast.
I have enjoyed not having to work the past few weeks, although it is a bit stressful thinking about bills and such, but I have been able to work out on a regular basis, catch up on some 'me' time which I've been told I need. hehe
My little brother Peter has been shipped out to Boot camp in Oklahoma, he is a proud member of the Army National Guard Reserves. I am so proud of him.
So, that is what I've been up to the past few months. I will try to post more often. I do check this on a regular basis and read other peoples posts, which I enjoy very much!
Have a great day and God Bless.
VickyVictoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-84884032046190865512009-07-13T19:29:00.000-07:002009-07-13T19:38:38.833-07:00My Little MenSo, it's been quite awhile...sorry about that to any of you who actually read my blog lol. About 2 months ago I moved into my own apartment and haven't had a whole lot of free time these days, work is crazy busy and I have an entire second bedroom full of boxes that still need unpacking...one day it will all get done...hehe. Well, I have gotten myself a couple of little friends to keep me company, their names are Ricky and Fred, from I Love Lucy of course. The black and white one is Ricky and the Grey and white is Fred! They are so much fun and just love making a mess of my little place! I hope you are all doing well!!! Loves~Vicky

Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-30661778984269035922009-03-25T17:58:00.001-07:002009-03-25T18:08:17.664-07:00Prayers Please!!!I know I don't have many people reading this, but I have a favor to ask all of those who do. All I ask is that you can spare some good thoughts and prayers for my Gramma Emily and my Auntie I would greatly appreciate it.

Day before yesterday my mom received a phone call from her mom, my gramma Emily. She fell getting out of the bathtub. Well, she managed to break the toilet tank with her head...But her husband, who we don't really care for unfortunately, insisted she didn't need to go to the emergency room and that she would be fine. Luckily she called her Dr. anyway and he made her go to the emergency room. She had a CT Scan of her head and a ton of x-rays done, nothing is broken and the CT scan is ok. So a few stitches in her head and some major bruising is all that came of it. But it is such a scary thing to have happen.

Then today, my mom received a phone call from my Cousin Shannon who shares property with my Auntie up in Arlington, WA. She called to inform us that my Auntie was admitted into the hospital yesterday with pnemonia. Now, pnemonia is usually a scary thing for elderly and infants and then only if it get bad enough for the normal person. However, for my Auntie, it could be fatal. She has had cancer in the past and has had so many surgeries and medical problems that the common cold for her could be fatal.

Thank you to everybody who will be praying for them. I greatly appreciate it!
~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-32870762445155114812009-03-18T21:44:00.000-07:002009-03-18T21:56:50.468-07:00Yaay Answers!!!!! And a good book!!!Hello All!!

So, I have to say today was so relaxing! I woke up after not falling asleep until after 2am checked my e-mails, deleted the junk I had and sat back with a new book! No joke I read the entire book cover to cover today, I just got it at the library yesterday and it was so good! It was a true story about a series of murders in Boston and I couldn't put it down. Sorry to Cassandra, I just got your e-mail about what I was doing today because I haven't gotten into my e-mail since before you wrote it :( But tomorrow is your BIRTHDAY!!!!

I have been trying to just listen to my body the past couple weeks, ya know, sleep when i'm tired enough to sleep, and just listen to what it is needing. I had found out a long while ago that my grandma has a vitamin B deficiency which she gets monthly injections for and is really nothing to worry about. Well for some random reason I had a strange feeling about it so I looked up on Kaisers website what exactly it was and did a little bit of research. Come to find out the kind my grandma has can cause fatigue, insomnia, migraine headaches, and incidently can be hereditary. After putting a few of the pieces together since I have been having migraines for about a year now, have been taking medicine for insomnia for about a year or so, and never can seem to get enough sleep I decided to consult my Dr. about getting a blood test for the deficiency. In less than 24 hours after having blood drawn, my Dr's office was calling me, and sure enough, my Vitamin B12 count was low, and low enough for my Dr. to prescribe monthly injections. So the next day I had my first B12 shot because I didn't want to wait to get this started if it was going to possibly correct some issues I've been dealing with. I'm not sure how long before I should be noticing changes, but I think I finally have a legitimate answer to some of the things that cause me to be so stinking tired all the time and hopefully what is causing my migraines!!

Due to schedule changes at work I have had a refreshing few days off in a row! I start back on friday and unfortunately for the next 3 months will be working ten hour shifts on Fri. Sat. Sun. and Mon. The days are pretty sucky, but at least it's only for three months, which actually goes by quite quickly with the fast paced work we do.

Anywho, I'm off to bed so complete my oh so relaxing day! I hope yours was great as well!
~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-41881656302890866912009-03-02T15:10:00.000-08:002009-03-02T15:29:19.413-08:00A Whole Day Off!!!

So it's been awhile. You see, I got a job!!! I am loving life so much these days it is wonderful!! If you read my last post you will recall me speaking about how wonderful the good lord is and how beautiful he has made life for us all. Well, he has blessed me yet again, I started my job the last week of January and have already brought in over $2,000. I'm not even kidding you. We are suppose to be working 4 ten hour days a week however, we are crazy busy right now and haven't found another employee that will be a right fit to hire, so we have to work 5 ten hour days a week, and on top of that I have even had to bring work home to do. Now, this is totally illegal and I would do something about it if I wasn't so in need of employment right now, but we get paid our regular salary for 96 hours of work in a pay period and everything over 96 is time and a half. The owner claims it's because we get paid on the 5th and the 20th rather than a set 2 week pay period, but I am so thankful to even have a job right now, let alone one that I enjoy. I have a blast with the ladies I work with and don't mind the owner too much, although he is a bit on the intense side to say the least.

I love my job though, I get to do paperwork and computer work all day long, but there is always so much to get done that the days just fly by. And last month, although I didn't get to take part in the actual work that was done, one of our clients gave our company a bonus and rather than the owner keeping it for the company expenses and stuff, he is generously giving it to the ladies in the office, we get to leave work early on friday the 13th, rent a limo and have dinner at the Melting Pot in Portland!!!! I am so excited! I have never been in a limo, or to the Melting Pot which I've heard is fabulous! And the owner isn't even coming, he is just letting us have all the fun!!!!!

Other than that I really don't do too much these days, mainly because I don't have time, my bedtime has become 8:30 at the latest as I get up at 5:30 every morning, and I am not such a pleasant morning person to begin with :) Our house is coming along great! We have to make some wiring fixes and little adjustments here and there to get our framing inspection to pass and then we can start insulating and sheet rocking!!! We even have doors now!!! I haven't been over to take pictures for awhile, but my dad is doing a fabulous job! My mom has been helping as well, to the point where she has become injured now however, she went to the Dr. this morning because her shoulder has been in a lot of pain and practically immobile since about Saturday, she has to have it in a sling and not use it at all for 10-14 days. The Dr. said it is just an extremely bad sprain on the muscle but if it doesn't start feeling better she has to go back and have it looked at again.

My big bro and sis in law have moved away :( My little brother and Crystals dad and I helped them move back to Spokane on Valentine's day. So I had an interview this morning with a Mortgage company in Battle Ground. I had interviewed there before but chose to take a different job...big mistake. Well, luckily the good lord shined down on me and they gave me another chance, I interviewed at 9:15 this morning and was asked by 9:30 this morning how much money he would have to pay to have me start work for his company!! I said $10 an hour and he offered me $11 an hour!!! I am so overly excited and thankful to God above for this opportunity. I will be able to pay off my student loan in no time, I am working close to home and will have medical benefits so my parents don't have to cover me anymore! It feels so wonderful to finally feel like I am stepping foward in the right direction career wise in life at the age of 22...well, almost 23!

Also, on another note, I read the most AMAZING book last week, I'm not kidding you I finished it in 3 days easy, I just could not put it down! It's called "The Shack" by William Paul Young. I can't reveal anything about it because frankly it would ruin anything you read, all I can say is READ IT!!!! It's is so magnificent!!!

I am so blessed to have the life I have, and I know I do not thank the lord as I should each and every day. I have been changing so much inside the past few weeks that I cannot even share the emotion and feeling I have inside. It is so overwhelmingly wonderful to know that God is watching out for each and every one of us and truly does have a plan, whether we want to admit it or not, he really does have things happen for a reason! I feel so much closer to him lately that it is just indescribable! I don't know if that all makes sense, but God is great, that is what it boils down to I think!

I love you all and hope all is well for you!!
xoxoxox
MeVictoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-24449726842163979282008-12-27T16:17:00.001-08:002008-12-27T16:17:58.195-08:00Family Trip to Orlando!!So it's been awhile...mainly because I haven't been home for quite awhile. My parents, both brothers, and sis in law were lucky enough to spend a week at Walt Disney World in Floriday together, we left on Dec. 12th and were suppose to return home on Dec. 20th. But we'll get back to that little word SUPPOSE to return in a bit.First off the trip was incredible. The weather was beautiful, it was in the high 70's and low 80's the whole time we were in Orlando. We visited, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Kennedy Space Center, and stayed at a Disney World resort called Pop Century. The best part about staying at the resort was that we didn't have to worry about transportation all week besides going to kennedy space center. The resort has disney buses that take resort members to and from whichever parks you want to go to, which made everything so much easier! We were able to also attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! It was absolutely wonderful to spend the time with family and share all the memories we were able to make that week. I could go on forever and explain in detail what we did every day, but I really doubt you'd sit and read it all...lol I will post pictures in a seperate post for you to look at!So, back to the trip home, as you know, here in the good old Pacific Northwest, the weather has been somewhat shocking lately. Well, on the 20th we were suppose to fly into Denver, then from Denver, to portland, we received word that morning that our flight from denver to portland however had been cancelled due to weather. So we flew to Denver just to get as far as possible only to find out we would not be able to get another flight into Portland until christmas eve...only if that wouldn't be cancelled also. We spent the night in Denver and found plane tickets into San Jose, CA that afternoon and decided it was at least closer to home and on the other side of the mountains. So our plan was to rent a vehicle and drive home from there. That however became a problem when my dad came down with food poisoning on the flight into San Jose. Needless to say he was in no shape to drive for hours on end the next day, so we stayed in yet another hotel in San Jose and began our research on how we may be able to get home. All trains were full, all planes were full, and still not landing in Portland, so Eric managed to find tickets on a greyhound bus that would take us all the way to Portland by Tuesday morning. We made the tough decision to leave my parents in San Jose so my dad could get better and my brothers and sis in law and I took a taxi to the bus station, only to find out that the bus to Portland had been cancelled for a week and our tickets were non refundable. We were told that we could get as far as Redding, CA and as soon as the next bus left Redding for Portland, we could get on it with no extra charge because that is what our tickets were for. Well, after hours of being on the bus and multiple stops in extremely scary places we made it to Sacramento, CA where we would catch the bus to Redding and so on. Well, when we got there we were told that we could not ride to Redding and would have to stay there, which we did not want to do because it was a pretty sketchy place to say the least. My sissy spoke to the supposed manager and tried calling the corporate office because we should have never been allowed to buy tickets for a bus that had been cancelled for a week in the first place. We overheard a security guard talking to some folks trying to get to Portland and he told them there was a bus going as far as Eugene, OR so we inquired further. The people at the ticket counter and so called manager never knew what we were talking about but we got in the line that the security guard told us to and talked to the bus driver when he got there. He was allowing people on the bus who had tickets to Portland so long as we had a way from Eugene to home. And then...the bus filled up before we were able to get on it, but we were told to stay in line and that another bus would be coming shortly. Well, an hour and a half later, a bus finally made it, it was our turn to get on, and thanks to my big mouth we almost weren't allowed to. The manager took eric and crystals tickets and when peter and I got up there he took ours and I asked just to reassure myself that it was ok we get off at Eugene even though our tickets were originally for Portland. He stopped us dead in our tracks and pulled eric and crystal back and made us wait as well as about 6 other people with the same predicament. After all the other passengers were on the bus we had to plead our cases to him and the bus driver so that we could get on the bus. Bless his soul he allowed us on and there was plenty of room. We left Sacramento about an hour and a half later than scheduled, which was about 8:30 and after multiple stops and snowy roads made it safely into Eugene about 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The ride wouldn't have been so bad if I had been able to sleep more than a coupld hours total, however I believe it was our last stop in CA before crossing the border into OR that our bus switched drivers for sleeping purposes, well our new bus driver announced to us that he had never driven into OR before, and had also never driven in snowy or icy weather before, so he had his road maps and would be taking it slow and steady. Then in the middle of the night I started to feel just a little yucky to my stomach. I began to wonder if my dad may have had something contageous and I really did not want to be throwing up in a greyhouse bus bathroom. I hate some crackers that I luckily bought before the ride and braced myself for the worst. After thinking over what I had eaten and the happenings of the day, I realized I had only had a little breakfast and a few crackers...as well as 2 Advil PM pills to help with the bus ride...well, there lay my mistake. After I got a little more on my stomack and the PM medicine wore off I was fine thank the good lord. From Eugene we crammed into a friends truck where crystal and I sat in jump seats behind the main bench seat where my two brothers and my now BOYFRIEND(that's another post!) sat. Our luggage in the bed and carryons on our laps, we began yet another couple hour drive home.We did make it safely and my parents were actually lucky enough to get flights out of San Jose into Portland and actually beat my siblings and I home, go figure :) See post below this for some Florida Pictures!!!~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-1528580331692452062008-12-27T15:55:00.000-08:002008-12-27T16:15:10.834-08:00Walt Disney World Pictures!!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284627282167602834" style="WIDTH: 320px; There just doesn't seem to be that much to keep up on these days. The house is going well, we now have windows, gutters, some plumbing, some electrical outlet boxes, and a chimney. We're hoping to get the drywall installed while we are on vacation in florida from dec. 12-20th!! Then we get to start painting the inside and get cabinets installed!!! It's all coming together pretty well thank goodness!!! Other than that I've just been job hunting. Some recent medical concerns have left me at a loss for just about everything. I'm still waiting on tests and stuff to come back but it's all I seem to be able to think about and concentrate on so it's making just about everything else pretty difficult to keep up with and focus on. Anywho, here are some house pics for you to check out. Have a great day!! Love, Me

Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-1615966267424075652008-09-28T21:48:00.000-07:002008-09-28T22:13:56.958-07:00Are You Impressed??Holy cow, are you impressed?!?! Another post so soon! Well, nothing much has changed around here, still job hunting like mad!!!! And workin' on the house, we are done roofing the entire house other than the final strip that goes along all the peaks, and the second half of the shop is ready to be roofed which will be taken care of tomorrow!!! So if you're interested in reading a grumpy randomly written and organized blog feel free to continue reading! :)

So, have you ever had one of those days where you just want to curl up, never wake up and stay there for years on end. Today has been one of those days, and on top of that feeling, I've just wanted to be completely freakin' alone, which I can't do cuz if I do everyone in my family with annoy the crap out of me asking what's wrong, when ya know what...I have no idea!!!!! That feeling of wanting somebody who cares to be there just holding you, not asking you questions letting you be grumpy and caring for you, but knowing if they're there you most likely are going to act like a b**** toward them at some point during the time you spend together and not wanting to do that so you refrain from contacting them which sucks even worse because then alone feeling just dwells deeper and deeper into your subconcious making you just want to pull your hair out. IT'S FREAKING REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does this make me completely insane, or are these feelings mutually felt among other human beings? I like to think I'm not along in these experiences, but at the same time if everybody has these days, how has the world not ended yet...lol that is what I think would happen if everybody felt like this...at least if everyone felt like this all on the same day, whoa buddy that would be a day I hope we never have to experience in our lifetimes.

So I have to wonder why all these feelings inside me have occured...it could be due to the lack of being able to find a job for 3 freakin' months...or the fact that only one of my best friends lives close enough for me to truly benefit from out friendship and I am missing my other best friends so deeply that I have a hard time channeling those feelings to the right places...or I don't know, any combination of those or many other possibilities I guess are out there.

Anyway...I've probably ranted long enough for you to handle if you're still reading this far anyways :) Hope you enjoyed my little reflection! Have a good day!
Love you all!!!Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-62869566939921093062008-08-22T00:31:00.000-07:002008-08-22T00:56:36.516-07:00Pictures that go with my Newest blog post!!!

My cousin Shannon and her Fiance Carl at their surprise BBQ!!!

Me and Cassandra and her bridal shower!!!

Me and Cassandra and her wedding!!!

Me and Cassandra at her wedding reception!!!

Me and Madison!!! So, this summer has been filled with tons of events both large and small, I had three cousins, my best friend, and 3 other friends get married all withing about a month and a half of each other, unfortunately I couldn't quite make it to all of them although I would have loved to!
Madison, the little one who keeps me goin' these days turned four years old last week, I can't believe it! I had to miss her birthday party this year which tore me apart, it's the first big event of hers I've had to miss since she was born, so the other day I went over to catch up with my bestest Cassandra and her, and Brandon met up with us later that evening. Before he got there, Madison and I were playing and I asked her how old she is now, her response was this "Auntie, I not old, I getting bigger and stronger, but I not old!" Now imagine a four year old rolling their eyes at you with her hands on her hips and the attitude of a teenager saying just that to you, it was the cutest freakin' thing in the world and I love her to pieces!
The last weekend of July my Cuz Shannon and her fiance and my Auntie came down to take care of some wedding preparations and stayed with us, which was also our town celebration, Our Days! After the parade and Wedding prep on that Saturday, we surprised my cousin and her fiance with a family bridal shower/BBQ, they had no idea and it went magnificently!! The following day I hosted My best friend cassandra's Bridal shower which went great, considering I was more than overly exhausted from the previous few days, but I wouldn't have traded it for the world! Cassandra's shower was a huge success and a joyous gathering of great friends and family! And she was glowing the whole day, which was even that much greater! The following week was a haze of preparing for Cassandra's big day! The wedding was spectacular, the bride was gorgeous, the groom was handsome, and everything went prefect! It was a simple gathering of the closest family and went as smooth as could be! After another huge week of preparations, we celebrated Cassandra and James' union in holy matrimony with a huge reception at Cassandra's parents house! It was a long day of water play, dancing, food, BBQing, family, friends, toasts, cake, and happy people! The next weekend was Madisons birthday part, that I had to miss so that I could be present at my cousins wedding in Arlington, WA! She was absolutely stunning, my grandma made her dress, it was the 9th wedding dress she has sewn including her own! With the exception of over 100 degree weather, the day went fabulous!!! It was a huge success and greatest back yard wedding ever!! She is now Shannon Paige Knop!!!! All mixed in among that I have been job hunting since the beginning of July with no luck as of yet, 2 other of my cousins weddings took place that I unfortunately missed, one because I was told the wrong time by somebody and only made it to the reception which tore me apart, and the other we missed due to the grass fire and freeway closures this past week in La Center.
As for myself, outside of what I have physically been doing, lol, I am doing quite well! Looking forward to hopefully finding a job and starting to get myself situated on my own! I'm still living with my parents in La Center, we are building are house and it has finally begun! So far, we have a completed foundation and the conduet for the electricity and telephone have been run to the buildings, the framing should be started in the next couple days and so far things are going quite smoothly! The family is doing well and keeping busy and always!!
This is extremely long, so I think I will dismiss for now, I will try to post some pictures in another blog so I don't mess this one up, cuz I haven't posted pictures before...and I'm not quite sure how yet :-) I hope you enjoyed the update and I will try to keep this up a little better now that things are slowing down a bit!! Have a great day all!!!!
~Loves~
~Me~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-77513197440076215812008-04-08T14:51:00.000-07:002008-04-08T14:57:38.994-07:00RecoveryHi all,
So it's been a week since my surgery and I doing great in that aspect. I have been released to go back to all my normal activities so long as it doesn't bother me. Which is exciting...however I got to celebrate my release...by coming down with the stomach flu yesterday...it was awful! Luckily I'm feeling much better today, still not quite up to par however. Anywho, that's all I really have to update right now. If you could add my grandma and aunt to your prayers I would appreciate it, my aunt had knee replacement surgery last week, and my grandma had back surgery this morning, so just prayers for a healthy and speedy recovery would be wonderful! Thanks everyone!
~Loves~
~Vicky~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-82767907955008679532008-04-01T17:24:00.001-07:002008-04-01T17:33:52.007-07:00My hospital weekend...Hi guys,
So I am really awful at this...I know, it has been a crazy few months. Anyways, I just celebrated my 22nd birthday and had a blast, some friends came over and we played board games and it was so much fun! We even built Mr. Potato Heads!
So then, the next morning, I woke up not feeling all that great, something just wasn't quite right. I managed to handle it through most of the day, but then my side started hurting and I started running a fever, I called the advice nurse and because I wasn't able to stand up straight or walk upright they wanted me to go to the emergency room. So, between having a lady who was extremely awful and gave me a cathedar(spelling??) that was way too big, and the IV guy who had no idea what he was doing, I managed to survive. The Dr. came in to examine me and decided it was appendicitis and that I didn't need any further testing but rather he was just going to call the surgeon down right away. So my surgeon came down and we decided to let everybody get a night of sleep and proceed with the surgery at 8:00 Saturday morning. The night was full of answering questions, not getting any sleep, nurses constantly checking my vitals, and a roommate who was in excruciating pain. I made it through the night and was woken up by having to get a shot in the stomach which I thuroughly despised...and then they started with my pre-op. The surgery took less than an hour and made it through great! I was walking myself to the bathroom before they even took me back to my hospital room. I was able to come home Sunday morning and visit with my family.
I picked a very bad weekend to have this happen, I had relatives in town from everywhere for a big family birthday thing and I had to miss it because of my stupid appendix, I was not very happy about it. Some of them did come and visit me in the hospital though which I am very greatful for.
I am just at home now taking it easy. I am suppose to do everything I feel like I can do, just no lifting too much. I've been sleeping on the recliner in the living room because if I lay flat in my bed I will get stuck and can't get up which really sucks because I want to sleep in my own bed so bad! I have my follow-up appointment on monday and hopefully she will clear me for driving and what not.
Anyway, I am getting a little drowsy again so I will fill you all in later. Have a great day!
VickyVictoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-52057904982869376852008-03-07T19:53:00.000-08:002008-03-07T20:05:19.881-08:00Just a Little Thought...Hi Everybody, So not a whole lot has been going on, still job hunting and coming upon the end of dance season. But I wanted to share this poem with everybody because I thought it was so good. An older member of our church passed away last week and we've known him for years, he picked out this poem before he passed away for it to be in the bulletin for his memorial service.

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be re-arranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read
with your life's actions to rehash...
would you be proud of the things they
say about how you spend your dash?
~By: Linda Ellis~

Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442590957978862161.post-30810635358725757522008-02-27T18:19:00.000-08:002008-02-27T18:26:27.313-08:00Just the dayHi Everybody!
So I haven't heard about my interviews yet, I feel really good about the one I had on Monday, the lady told me that she would follow up by Thursday so I should hear something tomorrow. It is for a receptionist position for Evergreen Parts and Equipment. They buy and sell huge mining and earth moving machines and machine parts. The people were fabulous and so nice. It would me Monday-Friday from about 8-3 which is a wonderful schedule and would most likely move into full time. The company made $7 million in sales last year and is expecting to about double that this year, so it definitely would not be a dead end job. She said there is major opportunity to move up in the company and she introduced me to everybody that was there after my interview, which really wasn't too formal. We mostly talked about musicals and movies and things which made it feel really comfortable. So hopefully I will get some good news tomorrow and have a full time job!!! Yaay! And today I received an item I bought off of ebay that I am so extremely excited about!!!! I collect anything 'I Love Lucy' that show is hilarious! The tin sign that looks like a postage stamp with Ricky and Lucy on it has been discontinued so I have been searching for it somewhere since I heard the news, I finally found it on ebay for $10 I was in shock, and even better the money went to a charity, so it made it that much more worth while! It shipped two weeks ago and I was beginning to think something might have happened to it in transit, luckily it was delivered safely today and is amazing!!!! It goes fabulous with the rest of my Lucy collection!!!! Well that is all for now, I am off to dinner and bed early...I have been exhausted lately!!! Have a good one!
~Loves~
~Vicky~Victoria Stanleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12441916608823751361noreply@blogger.com0
